Whitbread (GB:WTB) has released an update.
Whitbread PLC has recently repurchased 221,960 of its own shares at a cost of almost £127.2 million, with the intention of canceling them to reduce the number of shares in issue. Following the settlement of this latest transaction, the company will hold over 12.4 million shares in treasury, consequently adjusting the total voting rights to approximately 180.3 million. The shares were bought on the London Stock Exchange through Morgan Stanley, and this move is part of the company’s ongoing share buyback program announced earlier on April 30, 2024.
