HSBC Executes Major Share Buy-Back and Cancellation

HSBC Holdings (GB:HSBA) has released an update.

HSBC Holdings plc has announced the purchase and subsequent cancellation of a significant number of its shares, totaling 245,997,259 for a consideration of around US$2.15 billion, as part of a buy-back initiative started on 7 May 2024. This move, involving transactions on both UK and Hong Kong stock exchanges on 27 June 2024, is set to reduce the company’s issued ordinary share capital. Shareholders are advised of the new share capital figure of 18,617,508,401 ordinary shares, which will be the reference for future notifications regarding their interest or changes to their holdings.
