This act of philanthropy is consistent with Buffett’s longstanding commitment to charitable causes. Nearly twenty years ago, he vowed to make annual donations to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and four other foundations led by his family members. In his most recent significant contribution, he transferred around $4.64B of Berkshire Hathaway Class B (NYSE:BRK.B) shares to these five institutions, echoing his promise to dedicate over 99% of his wealth to philanthropy.

Taking a look at Warren Buffett’s performance since 2013, Berkshire Hathaway has returned roughly 112% during this timeframe.
