Zayo Group is negotiating a potential purchase of Crown Castle’s (CCI) fiber business after talks with rival bidder TPG Inc.(TPG) cooled, people with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg’s Michelle Davis, Gillian Tan and Ryan Gould. Zayo’s offer topped that of TPG, and a deal for Crown Castle’s entire fiber business could be valued at more than $8B, according to the sources, who added that there is “no certainty a deal will be reached” as Crown Castle could decide to keep the business or TPG could re-emerge.
