Yellow rebuffs bid to revive collapse trucker, WSJ reports

Yellow (YELL) has rebuffed an offer to revive the bankrupt company and rehire thousands of its former workers, effectively halting a long-shot effort to reverse the collapse of the trucker, the Wall Street Journal’s Paul Berger reports. Lawyers for the company told the group seeking to resurrect the freight carrier in a letter that its bid was “not viable” and that Yellow will proceed with the sale of roughly 130 truck terminals that raised nearly $1.9B at a bankruptcy auction this month, the author notes. Other publicly traded companies in the space include ArcBest (ARCB), J.B. Hunt (JBHT), Knight-Swift (KNX), Old Dominion (ODFL), Swift Transportation (SWFT) and Werner (WERN).
