In a regulatory filing last night, Western Digital (WDC) disclosed that on January 10, Wissam Jabre, the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, notified the company that he does not intend to continue in the role of Chief Financial Officer of the company’s hard disk drive business following the previously announced separation of its flash business pursuant to a spin-off transaction. Jabre is resigning from the company to pursue other opportunities effective February 28, when the company anticipates it will have completed the separation. “The company has commenced a comprehensive search for the role of Chief Financial Officer of the company’s hard disk drive business following the separation,” the filing noted.
