Citi analyst Asiya Merchant says the departure of Robert Soderbery, Western Digital’s (WDC) GM of the Flash Business, may come as a surprise to investors given his reputation as a very knowledgeable expert regarding the flash business and technology roadmap. While Citi awaits additional information beyond the limited information provided in the filing, it believes Soderbery’s “sudden departure” could be viewed negatively by investors at this point in time as the company progresses in the spin out of its flash business. The firm has a Buy rating on the shares with an $85 price target
