Sometimes, being a value investor means going where others prefer not to go. For some, that means wading into controversial situations in which a business is unloved due to past transgressions, and such is the case with Wells Fargo (WFC) and Disney (DIS), Nicholas Jasinski writes in this week’s edition of Barron’s. Another place to seek out value is in stocks that are just too complex for many investors to bother with, the author notes, while highlighting Calumet Specialty Products Partners (CLMT) and Energy Transfer (ET). Other stocks like Philip Morris (PM) and Altria Group (MO) have been shunned by certain investors but are also worth a look. Then there are energy stocks, such as ConocoPhillips (COP), Halliburton (HAL), CVR Energy (CVI), NOW (DNOW), and NexTier Oilfield (NEX), the publication adds. Reference Link
