Walgreens (WBA) is in talks to sell itself to private-equity firm Sycamore Partners in a deal that could be completed early next year, Cara Lombardo, Lauren Thomas and Anna Wilde Mathews report, citing people familiar with the matter. Sycamore would likely sell off pieces of the business or work with partners on the deal, a source told the Journal. Shares of Walgreens jumped 6% to $9.38 following the report before halting for volatility.
