RBC Capital downgraded Volkswagen (VWAGY) to Sector Perform from Outperform with a price target of $100, down from $102. The car maker is facing challenges on several fronts, as the 2025 CO2 regulatory cliff in Europe represents a “serious challenge,” the analyst tells investors in a research note. Meanwhile, in China, the company is losing market share to domestic battery-electric vehicle makers, the analyst says, adding that if incentives return in Europe, this could help. The analyst added, however, that for no Volkswagen is a “wait and see” situation.
