UPS has denied Teamsters union accusations that the company walked away from negotiations over a new contract, Reuters’ Abhijith Ganapavaram reports. “The Teamsters have stopped negotiating despite UPS‘s historic offer that builds on our industry-leading pay,” the company said, adding that the union should return to negotiations. “Refusing to negotiate, especially when the finish line is in sight, creates significant unease among employees and customers and threatens to disrupt the U.S. economy,” UPS said. The agreement, which covers around 340,000 workers, expires at the end of the month.
