Oppenheimer analyst Martin Yang lowered the firm’s price target on Universal Display (OLED) to $220 from $240 on new 2025 estimates, while keeping an Outperform rating on the shares. Few investors like to see guidance cuts, but Universal Display’s 4% cut on 2024 revenues could be a blessing in disguise, the firm says. Given what is known from Q3 earnings season regarding softness in handsets, the company’s investors will sooner or later face “disappointing” 2025 guidance, Oppenheimer argues.
