The Department of Justice, DOJ, dropped a proposal to force Alphabet’s (GOOGL) (GOOG) Google to sell its investments in AI companies to boost competition in online search, Jody Godoy of Reuters reports. The DOJ and a coalition of 38 states attorneys general seek a court order to require Google to sell its Chrome browser and to take other measures to address what a judge said was Google’s illegal search monopoly, according to court papers filed in Washington.
