Trump suspends new federal offshore wind leasing, Reuters reports

President Donald Trump, in his first day in office, suspended new federal offshore wind leasing pending an environmental and economic review, saying windmills are expensive, ugly, and harm wildlife, Reuters’ Susanna Twidale reports. Former President Joe Biden set a target for 30 gigawatts of projects by 2030, up from 42 megawatts at the end of 2023. Publicly traded companies in the space include GE Vernova (GEV), Vestas (VWDRY), ABB (ABBNY), BP (BP), and Avangrid (AGR).
