Trump says is he ‘big believer’ in polio vaccine, AP reports

President-elect Donald Trump held a wide-ranging news conference on Monday, providing some assurances on the polio vaccine, Michelle L. Prie and Adriana Gomez Licon of The Associated Press report. While Trump defended his choice for health secretary, vaccine skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr., he said he is personally a “big believer” in the polio vaccine and would preserve access to it. “You’re not going to lose the polio vaccine,” he said. “That’s not going to happen.” Aaron Siri, the lawyer helping Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pick federal health officials for the incoming Trump administration, asked the FDA to revoke its approval of the polio vaccine, The New York Times’ Christina Jewett and Sheryl Gay Stolberg reported last week. The Fly notes that Sanofi (SNY) makes the polio vaccine that is subject to the petition.
