Consumers will likely see higher produce prices in the coming days due to President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Mexican goods, Target (TGT) CEO Brian Cornell told CNBC on Tuesday. After the 25% tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada took effect Tuesday, prices for strawberries, avocados and bananas could rise, Cornell said. “Those are categories where we’ll try to protect pricing, but the consumer will likely see price increases over the next couple of days,” he told CNBC. “If there’s a 25% tariff, those prices will go up,” Cornell added.
