A bid to the U.S. Supreme Court by major oil companies to end a lawsuit from Honolulu accusing the oil companies of “misleading the public for decades about the dangers of climate change induced by the burning of fossil fuels,” was denied, wrote John Kruzel for Reuters earlier. “The justices turned away an appeal by the oil companies of a decision by Hawaii’s top court allowing the suit, which alleged violations of state law, to proceed,” added the story… According to Reuters defendants in the lawsuit include Sunoco (SUN), Exxon Mobil (XOM), BP (BP), Shell (SHEL), ConocoPhillips (COP), BHP Group (BHP), Marathon Petroleum (MPC) and Chevron (CVX ).
