Studios start to send old shows to Netflix again, NY Times reports

About five years ago, executives of streaming platforms began to slow down the number of movies and television shows they were selling to Netflix (NFLX), believing selling would only hurt them while fueling the company’s rise, John Koblin and Nicole Sperling of The New York Times reports. However, confronting the fact most streaming services still don’t make money, Disney (DIS) and Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) have begun to soften their stance on not selling to Netflix. Now, the companies continue to hold their most popular content, but dozens of films and series, such as “Dune” and “Young Sheldon,” are being sent to Netflix for some cash.
