Starbucks Workers United, a union representing hundreds of locations, reported employees in 21 states including Wisconsin, Ohio and Virginia were told not to decorate for Pride Month by managers, the New York Times’ Remy Tumin and Amanda Holpuch reports, citing the union and Starbucks workers. Employees said store and district managers have been asked to take down existing decorations and told they would not be allowed to decorate stores for the celebration. The company has said the claims represent ‘outlier’ decisions by local leaders that did not reflect corporate policy.
