Starboard Value has taken a $1B stake in Pfizer and wants the company to make changes, Lauren Thomas of Wall Street Journal reports, citing people familiar with the matter. Starboard has approached two former Pfizer executives, Ian Read and Frank D’Amelio, to help and they have expressed interest in helping, sources told the Journal. Read was Pfizer’s CEO from 2010 to 2018 and D’Amelio was CFO from 2007 to 2021.
