Southwest (LUV) Airlines is pausing corporate hiring in an effort to reduce costs, a company spokesperson confirmed to Business Insider, Pete Syme reports. Southwest is also pausing summer internships, Syme writes. “Every single dollar matters as we continue to fight to return to excellent financial performance,” CEO Bob Jordan told staff in a memo. In addition to pausing hiring, Southwest is making cuts to non-core spending, including stopping its long-standing tradition of holding staff rallies.
