Private equity firms Vista Equity Partners and Blackstone (BX) are in advanced talks to acquire Smartsheet (SMAR) in a deal that could value the collaboration-software maker at close to $8B, or around $56 per share, people familiar with the matter told Reuters’ Milana Vinn and Mike Spector. The sources said a deal could be signed in the coming weeks, assuming there are no last-minute snags, the report noted. Smartsheet shares are up 2.6% in afternoon trading.
