Smartsheet fielding buyout interest, Reuters reports

Smartsheet has tapped investment bankers after attracting acquisition interest from buyout firms, people familiar with the matter told Reuters’ Milana Vinn and Anirban Sen. The maker of workplace collaboration software is working with Qatalyst Partners to review approaches from private equity firms, but Smartsheet has not decided whether it should launch a sale process and it is possible that it opts to stay independent, the sources said. Shares of Smartsheet are up 4.7% after the news.
