A court in Scotland blocked the production of oil and gas at two project sites being developed in British waters until their impact on climate change is assessed, Stanley Reed of The New York Times reports. The decision is a blow for the sites’ developers, Shell (SHEL) and Equinor (EQNR), but Judge Andrew Stewart of Scotland’s Court of Session said they could continue to drill wells and perform at other sites until the government made a decision.
