Shares of Sandy Spring Bancorp (SASR) are rising in afternoon trading, up roughly 2% after Crystal Tse and Matthew Monks of Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter, that the company has been working with financial advisers as it considers takeover talks with potential buyers. Sandy Spring has held discussions with suitors including Atlantic Union Bankshares (AUB), sources told Bloomberg.
