Rogers Communications (RCI) has acquired BCE‘s (BCE) 37.5% stake in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment – the parent company of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, the NBA’s Toronto Raptors and MLS’ Toronto FC – for CA$4.7B, or $3.48B based on current exchange rates, reported Sportico’s Scott Soshnick and Kurt Badenhausen. Rogers already owned 37.5% of MLSE and now holds 75% of the entity, on which it puts a total valuation of $9.3B, while Larry Tanenbaum owns the remaining 25% stake in MLSE, Sportico noted.
