The White House has finalized a $15B loan guarantee to PG&E in one of the Biden administration’s last actions before President-elect Donald Trump takes office next week, Bloomberg’s Mark Chediak and Ari Natter report. The loan marks the biggest of its kind in the history of the U.S. Energy Department’s Loan Programs Office and is designed to help finance a portfolio of projects for the company to meet forecast power demand growth and update its grid, the authors note.
