Monness Crespi analyst Brian White downgraded Oracle (ORCL) to Sell from Neutral with a $130 price target Oracle’s current price-to-earnings multiple is approximately double its long-term, historical average, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm says that despite Wall Street’s confidence heading into the fiscal Q2 earnings call last week, the company reported “surprisingly uninspiring results.” Monness points out its fiscal 2025 earnings estimate for Oracle is where it was year ago, while its Cloud Services revenue sales projection is lower. It also finds the company’s plan to double capex in fiscal 2025 both “troubling and unsustainable.” Oracle’s valuation is “stretched,” its competition is “fierce,” and the macro environment is “fragile,” contends Monness Crespi.
