OpenAI is in talks to raise $6.5B from investors at a valuation of $150B, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg’s Rachel Metz, Ed Ludlow, Gillian Tan and Mark Bergen. Banks are also in talks to issue the startup $5B in debt, the sources said. The new valuation, which doesn’t include the money being raised, is significantly higher than the $86B valuation from the company’s tender offer earlier this year, the report said. Previous reports have said that Nvidia (NVDA), Apple (AAPL) and Microsoft (MSFT) have discussed joining a funding round for OpenAI.
