Nvidia (NVDA) is suing EU antitrust regulators for accepting an Italian request in 2024 to probe its takeover of AI startup Run:ai, claiming they had flouted an earlier court ruling limiting their merger powers on smaller deals, Reuters’ Foo Yun Chee reports. While the case does not affect the Run:ai deal, which was approved by the EU competition watchdog last year, a ruling favoring Nvidia may further curtail the regulator’s power over future deals, the author notes.
