Northland analyst Tim Savageaux says President Biden’s announcing yesterday the allocation of $42B in rural broadband funding to the states “represents another step in the slow but steady process” of delivering funds for broadband network builds. The firm sees CommScope (COMM) as a prime beneficiary of rural broadband funding in addition to the pure play suppliers such as Clearfield (CLFD) and Calix (CALX). Calix remains very attractive under the $50 level, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Northland also expects fixed wireless will play a role given faster time to market and increasing throughput speeds, driving incremental opportunities for Cambium Networks (CMBM) in access and Aviat Networks (AVNW) in backhaul.
