Morgan Stanley upgraded Northern Trust (NTRS) to Equal Weight from Underweight with a price target of $127, up from $103. The end of quantitative tightening is the “number one driver behind” the decision to upgrade all trust banks, as it presents a positive for deposit growth across all scenarios, particularly at the trust banks given their skew to large institutional asset manager clients, the analyst tells investors.
