JPMorgan downgraded Newmont (NEM) to Neutral from Overweight with a price target of A$71, down from A$75. With the Porcupine divestment announced in late January, divestment catalysts have largely played out and should already be captured in stock repurchase forecasts, argues the analyst, who adds that more conservative cost assumptions lower the firm’s earnings and valuation.
