Seaport Research analyst Bill Ryan upgraded Navient (NAVI) to Buy from Neutral with an $18 price target The firm sees some risk in the upcoming 2025 guidance relative to consensus, but believes the items potentially causing any shortfall will be transitory in nature and calls Navient “more” of a sum-of-the-parts than an earnings-based investment. The firm sees a favorable risk-reward setup since the collective cash and value of the FFELP portfolio approximates the current stock price, the analyst noted.
