Morgan Stanley banker in talks for job in Trump administration, WSJ reports

Technology banker Michael Grimes is in talks to leave Morgan Stanley (MS) to work for the Trump administration, The Wall Street Journal’s Corrie Driebusch, Brian Schwartz, and Lauren Thomas report, citing people familiar with the matter. Grimes has advised technology companies in their IPOs, and has courted Trump ally Elon Musk and several of the executives who are setting up the new government agency, DOGE, to cut costs across the government, according to the report. It is unclear what role Grimes could take in the administration, though he has told some people and clients that he could be working with DOGE, sources say.
