Mobix Lab (MOBX)s announces that RaGE Systems has been recently awarded a Phase 1 Small Business Technology Transfer STTR contract. The contract, one of several awarded by the U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Microelectronics Activity DMEA , funds a Phase 1 project to collaborate with the University of Massachusetts at Lowell UML on a new System on Chip SoC for satellite communications…During Phase 1 of the project, Mobix Labs Wireless Systems Group will work collaboratively with University of Massachusetts at Lowell to identify and investigate the technical merit, feasibility and commercial potential of a low-power, low-cost and high-performance Monolithic Software Defined System on Chip for SATCOM applications. The team will study and then report on possible architectures which meet DMEA requirements. “This is a great opportunity for Mobix Labs to bring together the Wireless Systems capabilities it acquired with RaGE Systems, and the leading-edge IC architectures and technologies from the Mobix Labs team,” said Fabrizio Battaglia, CEO of Mobix Labs. Russell Cyr, GM & VP of the Wireless Systems Group, commented, “The bringing together of the research and ideas from UML Center for Space Science & Technology, RaGE Systems’ IC and systems technology and Mobix Labs IC developments will allow us to put together a great solution to present to DMEA.”
