Microsoft (MSFT) intends to expand its controversial plan for video games known internally as “Project Latitude,” which seeks to port previously Xbox console-exclusive titles to other platforms, including Sony‘s (SONY) PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch (NTDOY), The Verge’s Tom Warren reports, citing sources familiar with the company’s efforts. The project began with games like “Hi-Fi Rush,” “Pentiment,” “Sea of Thieves,” and “Grounded,” but the plan will extend beyond these four games and into some titles that may surprise Xbox fans, including a potential remaster of “Halo: Combat Evolved,” the author says. The Fly notes that a “Halo” game has not released on a platform other than Xbox or PC in the franchise’s entire existence.
