Meta may have to “roll back or pause” some features in India after a directive from the Competition Commission of India banned WhatsApp data sharing with Meta for ad purposes, Reuters’ Arpan Chaturvedi and Aditya Kalra report. The CCI has imposed a fine of $24.5M and a five-year ban on the data sharing practice in India, according to a court filing by the U.S. company seen by Reuters.
