Medical Properties Trust tenant skipped rent, exploring restructuring, WSJ says

Private hospital operator Prospect Medical Holdings, a large tenant of Medical Properties Trust (MPW), is working with restructuring advisers to explore options to address its financial troubles, people familiar with the company told The Wall Street Journal’s Soma Biswas and Alexander Gladstone. The hospital chain with facilities in California, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Connecticut has struggled financially for years and recently skipped rent payments owed to the landlord, the report noted.
