Argus keeps a Buy rating and $80 price target on LyondellBasell (LYB) while calling the stock the firm’s “value idea”. While its recent financial results have been spotty at best, mostly due to disparate degrees of economic growth in several global economies such as Europe and China, LyondellBasell looks positioned to benefit meaningfully when end-market demand recovers, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Argus adds that it expects the company’s profit growth to slowly improve in 2025 as its management takes steps to refine its portfolio of businesses.
