KeyBanc analyst Jason Celino last night initiated coverage of the DevOps group with Overweight ratings on GitLab (GTLB) and JFrog (FROG) and Sector Weight ratings on Atlassian (TEAM) and HashiCorp (HCP). The analyst views DevOps as a critical subsector of software and a “must-own category” for software investors. The firm has a positive view on the sector but favor stories where it has a higher degree of confidence in 20% growth. GitLab is positioned as broadest independent DevSecOps vendor and full platform play, the analyst tells investors in a research note. KeyBanc believes JFrog has improved execution as partial platform play with potential growth upside to mid-20%. It views fiscal 2025 as a growth transition year for HashiCorp and says Atlassian’s tailwinds will be more gradual going forward.
