A federal administrative judge who hears cases for the National Labor Relations Board, NLRB, ruled that Amazon supervisors illegally threatened to withhold wages and benefit increases from employees at two warehouses on Staten Island if they voted to unionize, Noam Scheiber of The New York Times reports. The judge, Benjamin Green, also ruled Amazon has illegally deleted posts from an employee inviting co-workers to sign a petition being circulated by the Amazon Labor Union. Judge Green also dismissed several accusations in the same ruling, including charges that Amazon: indicated take-home pay would fall if workers unionized; promised improvements in a program that subsidizes educational expenses; and, finally, indicated workers would be fired if they unionized and failed to pay dues.
