JD.com (JD) is launching a $1.5B subsidy campaign in early March to compete against PDD Holdings (PDD), whose app Pinduoduo has been rising, Ben Jiang of South China Morning Post reports, citing two people with knowledge of the matter. The subsidies will cover both JD.com’s self-operated online shops, as well as storefronts set up by third parties on the platform. The company is still determining the specific details and readying its systems ahead of the campaign next month, a source told the Post. Reference Link
