J.M. Smucker price target lowered to $120 from $125 at Stifel

Stifel analyst Matthew Smith lowered the firm’s price target on J.M. Smucker (SJM) to $120 from $125 and keeps a Hold rating on the shares. The firm, which maintains a Neutral weighting for the Food group, says the group’s valuation discount to historical levels is primarily reflecting the weak revenue outlook and reinvestment requirements pressuring margins. While valuation remains compelling in relation to history for the food stocks, the firm remains cautious given the uncertainty in revenue growth pacing in 2025, noting that estimates 3% EPS growth in 2025 in constant currency for the group, supported by 2% organic sales growth, partially offset by margin compression due to inflation and higher investment levels.
