At a conference on Monday, chip maker Intel (INTC)announced that its new data center chip out in 2024 will be able to handle more than twice as much computing work per watt of power used, reported Reuters. At a semiconductor technology conference in Silicon Valley, he chip giant said its Sierra Forest chip ‘will have 240% better performance per watt than its current generation of data center chip, the first time the company has disclosed such figures,” added Reuters. Other chip companies n the data center space include AMD (AMD), Broadcom (AVGO), Qualcomm (QCOM) and Nvidia (NVDA).
