Indian authorities have hit Infosys with a $3.9B tax demand, Chris Kay of The Financial Times reports. The company said it was issued notices for payment of goods and services tax by agencies in its home state of Karnataka and from the national Directorate General of GST Intelligence for July 2017 to March 2022. According to Infosys, the tax demand is related to “expenses incurred by overseas branch offices.”
