Following the announcement of its decision to restrict laptops imports into the country earlier, India announced, on Wednesday, that 32 international electronics firms are looking to be included in the country’s incentive program to make laptops there, reports Reuters. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is pushing to boost domestic manufacturing capacity under its ‘Make in India’ initiative ” noted the story. Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE,HPQ), Dell Technologies (DELL), Acer and Lenovo (LNVGY) are looking to expand electronic production in the country, according to media reports. Apple (AAPL) is also in the laptop space.
