In-game purchases may use manipulative tactics on children, Capitol Forum says

A new report from a children’s advocacy group claims that in-game purchases for video games seem to use developmentally manipulative tactics, Capitol Forum’s Ethan Ehrenhaft reports. The report comes as the FTC is aiming to address marketing tactics that target children, the author notes. Publicly traded game companies that offer in-game purchases in their products include Roblox (RBLX), Microsoft (MSFT), Tencent (TCEHY), Take-Two (TTWO), Electronic Arts (EA), Ubisoft (UBSFY), Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), and NetEase (NTES).
