HSBC (HSBC) is reviewing optitons for its consumer banking unit in Australia including a possible sale as the lender looks to further slim down its operations, Bloomberg’s Vinicy Chan and Manuel Baigorri reported yesterday, citing people with knowledge of the matter. The U.K. bank is likely to retain its commercial banking operations in Australia to serve its corporate clients worldwide, the authors note.
