Barclays analyst Anthony Powell upgraded Hersha Hospitality Trust (HT) to Equal Weight from Underweight with a price target of $10, up from $8, after the company agreed to be acquired and taken private by KSL Partners for $10 per share in an all cash transaction. The deal suggests there is private equity interest for lodging real estate investment trusts if persistent discounts to net asset value persist and there is a willing seller, the analyst tells investors in a research note.
